Lycos One of the most visited hubs on the Internet reaching one out of every two web users.
Yahoo! With over half a million sites divided into more than 25,000 categories, Yahoo! is both browseable and searchable.
Google A very fast search engine which can search the whole web or just the UK.

Buddha Net The Buddhist Information Service
The Sikh Network An excellent resource on all aspects of the Sikh faith.
Hindu Resources Online A vast amount of information on Hinduism.
Jewish.co.uk Part of Jewish.Net which bills itself as the Number 1 site for all things Jewish.
The Islamic Gateway A useful starting point for Islamic studies, with useful links.
The Anglican Church (Church of England) A site covering the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion
The Vatican The site of the Vatican in Rome is a good place to start looking at Catholic Christianity.
The GCSE RE Revision Site An excellent site for GCSE RS candidates containing information on world faiths and Social and Moral Issues.

BBC Bitesize Revision Site Another very useful site for GCSE RS candidates containing information and interactive tests.


Church of England

Find out here how the Church stands on such issues as animal welfare and homosexuality, the Church's Christian beliefs, and relations with other denominations and faiths. There are details of the history of the Church.

Faith in Schools

For GCSE and A level students this site, approved by four churches, is a mine of information and ideas, particularly on Christianity, Judaism and current moral and ethical issues.

God and Gods of Hinduism

From Brahma to Ganesh, there's information about Hinduism and access to detailed information, with pictures, of Hindu gods.

This London Hindu centre's site has lots of useful information about Hinduism aimed at both primary and secondary pupils. It is well presented and easy to navigate; an excellent source of information.

Want to know when different religions have their holidays and festivals? This American site has details of festival dates for all of the world's major religious sects.

Providing succinct information and appropriate pictures on the Five Pillars of Islam, this site is an outstanding resource using uncomplicated language.

Quran Browser

Search the Quran by word or phrase, or look passages up directly. Several English translations are available. Students may compare the same passage from each version, side by side.

RE Sauce

A GCSE religious education site with free revison resources for key stage 3 and GCSE students. It is aimed at the Catholic sector but is adaptable to wider Christian teaching. There are bible quotes, revision snippets and quizzes.

Follow the Jewish life cycle, take a virtual tour of a synagogue or read the essays and resources displayed by the Rabbi. Useful for revision.

The Sikhism Home Page

The Sikhism Home Page is beautifully presented with excellent graphics and sound files and the language level is appropriate for Key Stage 4 RE students. It contains a good English translation of the entire Guru Granth Sahib which is otherwise almost impossible to get hold of.
