The Black and Asian history Map Channel4.com hosts this amazing interactive map. It gives the history of minority groups around the British Isles, and it includes a timeline. The map has information about a Maharaja who lived near Thetford in the 1850s and the timeline has details of the black soldiers that patrolled Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland around 200AD (that's 1800 years ago!). Commission for Racial Equality The Commission works in both the public and private sectors to encourage fair treatment and to promote equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of their race, colour, nationality, or national or ethnic origin. Britkid This is a website about race, racism, and life - as seen through the eyes of the Britkids. It includes pages of information as well as an excellent game based on the experiences of young British people who experience racism as a part of their daily lives. Let's Kick Racism out of Football Says it all, really! The campaign is run by the CRE to try to stamp out racism both on the pitch and in the terrace. |
